ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) has a need for an enthusiastic Geophysicist/Geologist to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. The work will be mentally challenging and physically demanding with approximately 25% overnight travel, primarily within the Carolinas.
Responsibilities
Near-surface geophysical data collection and analysis for a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects
Phase II hazardous waste assessments, UST closures, and remediation
Vibration monitoring services
Report preparation
Representing ESP at professional meetings
Assisting other service areas, as needed.
Qualifications
BS degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related field
Strong written and oral communication skills
Team player, efficient, client-driven
Valid driver's license (company truck provided)
Preferred
Hazardous waste assessments and remediation
Geophysical data collection and analysis
AutoCAD/MicroStation
40-hour HAZWOPER certification
GIT or PG license
This position will require extended periods of fieldwork in variable terrain and weather conditions with overwater work and night work sometimes required. Must be able to carry and/or lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds and engage in repetitive overhead swinging of a sledgehammer weighing up to 20 pounds.
Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
