About The Team
TikTok's Global Brand Safety Team, based in New York City, has a mission to drive trust within the advertising industry, including brands & agencies, industry trade groups, key opinion leaders and technology partners. With responsibilities spanning B2B marketing, external and internal advocacy, issues management and industry partnerships, our work is diverse and integral to the success of the business.

You'll join our team to develop and implement a range of initiatives aimed at building trust with brands, agencies and the ad industry. You will drive strategic content for monetization stakeholders that unifies user and brand narratives that demonstrate our commitment to creating a safe, positive, and suitable experience for brands and our community. We're looking for someone to work at the intersection of digital advertising, responsible tech, public affairs and issues management - closely and independently collaborating with our Trust and Safety, PR, Advertising Product, Sales, Public Policy, Ad Policy, and Legal teams across a range of topics, products, policies, partnerships, and issues.

You should have a proven ability to easily distill and communicate complex issues for a wide range of audiences, and create clear, crisp messaging frameworks, talking points, and other assets that bring our story to life - and empower business teams to do the same. The ideal candidate has excellent executive communcations abilties - both written and verbal, undersanding of a broad range of issues in the brand safety space, the ability to analyze opportunities and risks associated with client inquiries, and the strategic judgment to respond accordingly. You're good at connecting the dots and seeing the bigger picture. You work well under pressure, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and able to respond to and collaborate on a range of situations - balancing the needs of clients with protecting the business, all done with empathy.

Responsibilities
- Develop global initiatives to build trust in - and understanding of - our content, safety efforts, policies, and solutions for advertisers.
- Support and advance TikTok's trust and safety narrative - for an advertiser audience - across a range of issue verticals, including the creation of messaging docs, blog posts, speaking materials, white papers, issues responses, statements, talking points, and other collateral.
- Empower sales teams to consistently and accurately build trust in TikTok's policies, products, and processes.
- Provide ongoing counsel on a range of issues important to our key accounts and the broader business.
- Work collaboratively with Trust and Safety, Advertising, Product, Legal, Public Policy, Creator, and other teams to provide issues counsel and support.
- Serve as a bridge between a diverse and complex set of internal and external stakeholders - to support mitigating risk and identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies.
- Support industry trade partnerships to ensure we are building advocacy and communicating the appropriate signals to internal teams.
- Support communication of company positions on regulatory developments to advertisers.
- Serve as a thought leader and external spokesperson for the company across a range of opportunities.
- Serve as a thought partner to client teams and regional counterparts - supporting direct client comms as an SME - and leading safety positioning globally.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in brand safety, communications, public affairs, public policy, or related field - tenured in handling & representing complex issues.
- Excellent strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong issues & crisis management experience; understanding of sensitivities in reputation management.
- Experience engaging with c-suite and senior leadership in formal and informal, scaled, and 1:1 settings.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a global workforce with a deep understanding of cultural nuances and diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in trust and safety, tech policy or reputation/issues management capacity.
- Experience working at a global tech company, NGO, Industry Association, or multinational brand/agency.
- Proven ability to write strategically for a range of audiences.
- Extensive experience advocating and building advocacy amongst internal and external stakeholder groups.
- A self-starter who is motivated, takes initiative, and works well in a fast-paced environment where there is always opportunity to do more.

Job Information:

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $106000 - $180000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
