Grants and Financial Coordinator (Full-time, Hybrid), Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP)
The Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP), a research-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking a highly organized self-starter to fill the position of Grants and Financial Coordinator. The position combines the functions of grant administration, financial administration, and office management. The position is based in Washington, DC with a flexible, hybrid schedule. Key responsibilities of the Coordinator include:
Grant administration
Coordinating grant reporting, including narrative and financial reports
Supporting development of grant proposals
Office and financial management
Ensuring smooth functioning of office systems, Google Workspace, software subscriptions, and office equipment
Administering payroll and other accounts payable as well as accounts receivable
Working with an outside accounting and bookkeeping firm, to administer monthly account reconciliations, budget projections, and tax filings
Maintaining donation records and issuing donation receipts
Other administrative duties supporting UHRP’s research, communications and advocacy
Additional responsibilities
Tracking activities and achievements for reports to donors and the Board of Directors
Preparing budget and financial reports for the Board of Directors
UHRP welcomes candidates with additional skills and experience that can contribute to supporting UHRP research, communications and advocacy
Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to coordinate team efforts and ensure that deadlines are met
Proficiency in Google Workspace functions or willingness to obtain intensive training
Ability to quickly gain competence in other software applications as needed
Additional desirable qualifications (one or more):
One to five years experience in non-profit or small business environments
Experience in grant administration and developing funding proposals
Experience in managing budgets and financial systems
