Data centers should be valuable assets to their customers, the grid, and the local community such that we are able to give customers what they want, where they want it, while cities and utilities are actively seeking us to build in their region.

Verrus will build and operate next generation data centers that flexibly leverage its onsite infrastructure through the development of proprietary technology. Doing so will allow Verrus to provide grid services that facilitate the effective procurement of power and carbon free energy, and balance traditional and variable uptime workloads (e.g., AI/ML).

Verrus is led by industry veterans with experience at the largest data center development companies, delivering over 3 GW of data center capacity across four continents in their careers (representing over $10bn of investment).

Role

As an experienced operational executive, you will collaborate across multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) to drive Verrus’ day to day business operations. You will work closely with the CEO to develop and implement strategic plans, manage the budget, and oversee all aspects of the company's operations. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and investors. This role requires working across multiple functional areas, and partnering closely with the engineering organization to execute the product vision and make it an operational success.

As Verrus is still early in its organizational development, the role will evolve as the organization evolves, with responsibilities moving around as top tier talent is added to the organization, and as our customer and operational needs grow and change. The successful candidate will come with a growth mindset, and constantly check what is the best way to build and evolve the organization today for the best outcome.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the CEO and the CTO to develop and implement strategic plans to build and operate the business
• Until Verrus hires a full-time CFO, manage the budget and financial performance of the company
• Own external marketing and policy engagement
• Develop and implement corporate real estate and IT strategy, including external vendors, office leases, development and management
• Oversee all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations, including talent and talent acquisition, supply chain, site operations and customer service
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in a leadership role in the technology industry
• Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic plans showcasing effective resource allocation and management
• Strong financial and operational skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or related degree
• Experience in the data center industry and supply chain management
• Experience running $1B programs or operations
• Experience engaging successfully with the C-Suite and Boards of Directors
  
  

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $220,000-$270,000. Salary is only one part of Verrus’ comprehensive compensation package, which also includes a discretionary bonus and general health benefits and paid time off.
