Job Overview/Summary
We are seeking an experienced HIX Tester to join our team. The HIX Tester will be responsible for developing, documenting, and implementing comprehensive test plans and cases for Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) systems. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of HIX systems, healthcare IT, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, document, and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases for HIX systems.
Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plans.
Collaborate with business analysts and developers to understand requirements and design detailed test strategies.
Execute manual and automated test scripts to validate system functionality, performance, and security.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools.
Work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of identified defects.
Validate fixes and perform regression testing to ensure issues are resolved.
Provide detailed and clear defect reports to development teams.
Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test data.
Report test results, provide status updates, and present findings to stakeholders.
Participate in review meetings to provide insights and recommendations for quality improvements.
Ensure testing processes comply with regulatory standards and guidelines for healthcare systems.
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in HIX testing and healthcare IT.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years focused on HIX systems or healthcare IT.
Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, QTP).
Strong understanding of HIX systems, Medicaid, Medicare, MMIS, and Integrated Eligibility Systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Knowledge of EDI transactions and HIPAA compliance.
Familiarity with SNaP, EBT cards, and related healthcare programs.
