POSITION SUMMARY:


The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, communication and coordination of all environmental, health and safety programs for the company, whilst ensuring uniformity with the programs and policies put in place by our parent company. The position will provide technical and administrative input on HSE decisions that impact the company’s objectives, operations, and profitability throughout each of its five locations across the country.


ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:


  • Support all local HSE programs within the company.
  • Work collaboratively with a global team of health, safety and environmental (HSE) professionals within Sercel and Viridien (formally CGG), to direct the effective deployment of HSE management systems, programs and strategic initiatives that builds and sustains a zero-harm safety culture.
  • Create and maintain a culture within the organization that prioritizes effective HSE and maintains appropriate levels of awareness, knowledge and preparedness.
  • Maintain a comprehensive safety program to protect Sercel’s assets, including people and property.
  • Measure effectiveness, seeking to improve and implement changes to existing training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote HSE consciousness.
  • Interface with local, state, and federal agencies as required for safety and environmental compliance issues. Maintain and submit all required reporting to ensure compliance.
  • Provide for emergency response in critical situations, such as, medical emergencies and facility evacuations.
  • Carry out routine inspections, risk assessments and job safety analyses, and implement corrective action plans if necessary.
  • Complete relevant safety audits and provide regular reports to local and global stakeholders, in order to meet defined HSE and ESG specific objectives.
  • Maintain all records and documentation as required to meet internal and external standards.
  • Train and educate management and employees as necessary on all related HSE topics, ensuring all mandatory compliance training is completed in a timely manner.
  • Interface with the building management company, and/or subcontractors to coordinate facility-related work and initiatives.
  • Manage successful completing of facility-related projects.
  • Maintain building related maintenance records (fire protection, life safety, etc.).


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO PERFORM POSITION DUTIES:

  • 10+ years’ experience in a safety-related role in a manufacturing environment with 5+ years in a supervisory and/or management role in HSE
  • Knowledge of safety regulations established by government agencies including, OSHA, TCEQ, EPA, and DOT.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Good communication and people skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employment and management.
  • The ability to systematically gather information, analyze, identify implications, draw appropriate conclusions and generate viable alternative solutions.
  • Possess leadership abilities in addition to technical knowledge in environmental, health and safety compliance with facilities operations.
  • Must have the ability to be resourceful and collaborate to foster continuous improvement.


TYPICAL EDUCATION:

B.S. in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field


DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • OSHA 501, ASP, CSP a plus


Work Authorizations/Security Clearance:

Employee must be eligible to receive deemed exports as defined by U.S. Export Administration (“EAR”) or EAR-controlled technology.
