Adventist HealthCare (AHC) seeks to hire an experienced Human Resources (HR) Coordinator for our Onboarding Health Clinic in Germantown, Maryland, who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As An HR Coordinator, You Will

  • Be the point of contact for new hires and serves as a welcome ambassador at the Onboarding Employee Health Clinic.
  • Collects and processes new hire paperwork, i.e. schedules pre-employment physicals; ensures new hire completes employee jot form; works closely with recruitment coordinators and new hires regarding missing or incomplete information; ensures accuracy of files; verifies primary source for required Licensure and I-9 documents; and submits and reviews new employee online background checks in Workday.
  • Assists and supports Onboarding and Orientation team at the Support Center when there is downtime at the clinic. If there are no appointments scheduled, this individual will travel to the Support Center to support and assist the onboarding and orientation team.
  • Entering new hire information into C-Cure (preferred name, credentials, job title, etc).

Serves as Backup for the Front Desk at Support Center:

  • Serves as a backup for when the Administrative Coordinator.
  • Answers phones and greets guests when they come to the corporate office.
  • Ensures all visitors check in upon arrival and informs leaders/EA’s when guests have arrived.
  • Ensures all mail deliveries are delivered to the appropriate location.

Independence (Degree of Supervision Received)

Supervision: The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments.

Required Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics: Competencies

  • Be diligent and extremely organized. Own various operational task to enhance the entire candidate experience.
  • The ability to think critically to identify and solve issues proactively
  • Strong operational and organizational skills as well as great attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly comprehend new concepts and embrace them
  • Comfortable with multitasking and prioritization
  • High degree of responsiveness and sense of urgency
  • Great customer service skills and ability to easily relate to clients and others internally
  • Positive, professional & friendly demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build rapport and relationships easily

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field – strongly preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in an office environment required;
  • (1) years’ experience as an HR Specialist, HR Assistant, or a similar relevant role within a corporate environment preferred.
  • Experience in on-boarding, talent acquisition, or related field is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of Human Resource processes and procedures strongly preferred
  • Ability to use confidentiality and discretion with confidential materials
  • Approachable and confident to interact with employees at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook, ATS- Workday preferred

M-Th: 8-4:30

Fri: 7-3:30

  • Office hours may change based on Organization needs
  • Office remains open in inclement weather

Tobacco and Drug Statement

Tobacco use is a well-recognized preventable cause of death in the United States and an important public health issue. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
