Human Resources Generalist

SafeHaven is seeking a Human Resources Generalist.

This position provides support for all activities of the Human Resources Department, which includes, but is not limited to, benefits, employee recruitment and processing, maintaining personnel records, HR systems, performance management, training, and employee relations.

The specific qualifications for this role are:

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative and clerical support for all HR functions.
  • Maintains employee personnel files with all legally required, up to date documentation.
  • Post open positions internally and externally maintaining contact with all viable sources of applicants.
  • Processes, routes, and maintains documentation on all incoming resumes, applications, and other paperwork for prospective, hired, and termed employees.
  • Assist hiring managers with the recruitment process and onboarding.
  • Assist HR with background checks on potential employees.
  • Produces and compiles all new hire paperwork for onboarding and assist with benefits as directed.
  • Prepares material for and assists with orientation and with new hire training.
  • Enters all employee data and updates into the Human Resources database system.
  • Regularly update HR notifications to staff.
  • Manage open and filled positions in Jobvite and Exponent databases.
  • Business cards and name tags ordered for employees.
  • Interprets policies and procedures for employees.
  • Assist other departments with weekly/monthly reports.
  • Assist department with sending out staff announcements, RSVP’s, and event room set-ups.

The specific qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 year's work experience in HR required.
  • Experience in working with employees at all organizational levels preferred.
  • Experience handling confidential agency matters and information with discretion.
  • Current Texas Driver’s License Required. Must provide proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Knowledge of all MS Office Suite and HR systems proficiency required.
  • Communication Skills
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructions.
    • Ability to respond effectively to complaints or sensitive inquiries.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to identify the various needs of the hiring managers to assist with the recruitment process.
