HR Generalist
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will play a key role in providing comprehensive HR support to our employees and management team. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle a wide range of HR responsibilities with professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Model Recovery Systems (a non-profit 501(c)3 California corporation) provides direct treatment services (at 11 locations in Los Angeles County) for those whose lives have become unmanageable due to alcohol and other drug use and/or whose mental health issues are interfering with leading productive lives. Thousands of individuals have found help in our programs since 1987. HR Generalist
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will play a key role in providing comprehensive HR support to our employees and management team. This position requires a proactive individual who can handle a wide range of HR responsibilities with professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Coordinate and conduct new employee onboarding and orientation sessions.
- Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits inquiries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Manage and resolve employee inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Support HR initiatives and projects, such as employee engagement surveys, training and development programs, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Stay current on HR trends and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance HR operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
- Solid understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
