Human Resources Specialist -

Chicago, IL (hybrid)


Our client is looking for an HR Specialist with at least 2-3 years of experience and a strong understanding of benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be passionate about HR, highly organized, and capable of managing various HR tasks while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company benefits. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Provide support to the HR team in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payroll administration.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and initiatives to foster a positive work environment. Organize company events, training sessions, and wellness programs.
  • Prepare and maintain HR documents, including employee handbooks, job descriptions, and HR policies. Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage HR data and generate reports as needed. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience, with a focus on benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs and regulations.
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
