The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for performing all duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and fixtures under the supervision of the Project Director.
- Inspects and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment and fixtures using test equipment, devices, non-intrusive technology, and other industry related procedures.
- Inspects flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls on instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units and diagnoses basic operational problems.
- Takes corrective action per procedure in assigned area. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor.
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed and odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters and belt presses.
- Electrical or Mechanical certification required.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in a related position, in a similar environment with the ability to comprehend complex specification, blueprints and manuals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Siemens Process Instrumentation, Allen Bradley PLC Instrumentation, and VFD Logic
- Responds to alarm calls for emergency situations at the facility.
- Courses in wastewater treatment are preferred.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, basic ladder diagrams for controls, specification, and vendor instructions.
- Must demonstrate ability to efficiently maintain, install and repair a variety of equipment which may include pumps, engines, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, chemical feed and odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters, and belt presses.
- Must demonstrate ability to use precision measuring devices, testing equipment and shop tools such as drill press, band saw, bench grinder, and torque wrench
