Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

General Summary:

Execute instrumentation and controls engineering improvement projects to improve plant reliability, equipment safety, and system protections. Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering departments to facilitate effective plant design, operation, and maintenance work strategies. Direct and coordinate engineering projects through planning, organizing, integrating, and commissioning. Provide technical assistance to Environmental, Reliability, and O&M teams to support daily plant performance. Utilize modern manufacturing and engineering practices, continuous improvements, and creative inputs for future growth opportunities that support the sustainability of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead or assist with implementation of capital upgrade projects. Provide technical consultation, formal and informal training, and development of documentation, standards, and procedures in relation to their role.

Provide technical support during ongoing plant operations and shutdowns. Support root cause analysis of process upsets and equipment failures to identify corrective actions. Provide technical support to maintain existing plant P&ID drawings.

Provide technical support to manage and assign instrumentation tags. Support plant engineering standards development, control loop tuning efforts and control logic development or review.

Provide technical support in the development of control narratives and technical consulting and direction to other team members.
