Intern-Clinical

Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Clinical Director/Clinical Supervisor or other appointed individual, this temporary position will be responsible for fulfilling responsibilities according the Internship Syllabus.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Student will work with the assigned manager to establish duties in adherence to the course syllabus.
  • Student will establish a work project within the calendar period as outlined in the syllabus.
  • The student will follow the policies and procedures of the internship site. In the case of illness, the student candidate knows the procedure for reporting absences and proceeds in compliance with the internship site.
  • Student follows the agreed attendance times to the site by the site supervisor. This includes being prompt for daily starting and ending times.
  • Records daily time commitments i.e. ten hours/week within a minimum of a 2 day/week site schedule = required minimum of 120 total hours.
  • Attends the required orientation conducted by the worksite.
  • Attends a weekly meeting with site supervisor to discuss highlights and challenges.

Education And Experience

  • Attending college/ university in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in psychology, business, marketing, clinical, or other professional area of expertise
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, follows deadlines, juggles multiple tasks initiative, and can manage own workload.

Work Environment: May work in a variety of environments including professional offices, clinics, hospitals, or out-patient facilities. They will spend much of their time actively working with patients.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel: Travel is not expected for this temporary role.
