Position Overview
Reporting to the CFO, the Internal Accountant will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, managing day-to-day accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll, and process improvements. This role requires a high level of accounting expertise, analytical skills, initiative, and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities
Execute monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, A/R, A/P, payroll journal entries, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets with depreciation/amortization.
Conduct accounting research and perform general ledger reconciliations.
Oversee A/R and A/P processes, review fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Prepare trial balance and schedules for income tax returns.
Manage payroll tax reconciliation, 1099s, and business property tax returns.
Analyze and design spreadsheets as required.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and payroll processing for 50+ employees.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, payroll software (e.g., Zenefits), and BILL vendor payment software.
Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, payroll preparation, employee benefits, and tax compliance.
Experience with retirement plans (401k), including annual census and reporting reconciliation.
