You would be joining an experienced, knowledgeable and collegial team of attorneys who work closely with colleagues across the firm’s global business, including compliance and operations, and support a varied set of products.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Be the primary legal contact for the firm’s US mutual fund and other US retail products
  • Assist with fund and product launches (including potential ETF launches) and various growth initiatives (organic and inorganic)
  • Respond to legal and regulatory matters and inquiries
  • Prepare and review regulatory filings related to the firm’s products
  • Collaborate with the compliance professions in the Legal & Compliance Department
  • Advise a diverse set of individuals and constituencies, including senior management and investment professionals, communicating clearly and effectively.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Juris Doctor degree with 4-6 years of hands-on experience with federal securities laws, gained through work at investment management firms or law firms. Investment management contract negotiation experience, fund formation, compliance and regulatory experience is essential.
  • Strong familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940 (1940 Act), Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and their respective regulations, as well as those of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and the National Futures Association is preferred. Familiarity with asset management regulation outside of the United States (e.g., MiFID, UCITS and NI 81-102) is preferred but not required.
  • Investment management contract negotiation experience, US fund formation, compliance and regulatory experience
  • High EQ, excellent communication, and relationship management skills
  • The ability to identify issues and make reasoned, commercial decisions in a fast-paced environment
