General Position Description
The position works in close cooperation with the Café Manager in providing working in the Main Street Café and providing job coaching assistance to a small number of adults with disabilities
This position will receive direct supervision from the Café Manager.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Follow established routines in preparing menu items and assisting supported employees in fulfilling the assignments of their jobs.
Be trained in proper food handling and follow in detail. Assist supported employees in following these procedures.
Meet assigned schedule and notify the Café Manager or designated in charge person well before shift if unable to work schedule.
Work to keep Café and equipment in clean, well maintained condition. Assist supported employees to do this as well. Report any problems immediately to Café Manager, designated in charge person or Area Program Manager in their absence
Maintain professionalism in all areas of work. Always deal with customers, staff & supported employees in a professional and appropriate manner. Deal with problem solving in a professional manner. Provide feedback and offer options/solutions in a constructive manner.
Oversee the closing and opening of the Café when scheduled, including counting and documenting income and drawer.
Attend Blake Foundation in service trainings as required.
Additional Responsibilities
Keep supported employees’ files up to date. Keep daily attendance and payroll records; document professional and family contacts, initiate and file seizure reports. Complete all assigned duties and paperwork accurately and on time.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Conform to policies, practices, procedures and philosophy of the Blake Foundation. Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
Ability to maintain good working relations with fellow professionals, volunteers, families and supported employees served EBF to encourage and maintain active teamwork and to deal with conflict in a professional manner.
Exhibit responsible performance in carrying out all necessary duties. Demonstrated willingness to accept new responsibilities, accept change.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of the individual planning process, strategies for teaching job tasks and methods of monitoring progress.
Ability to use work time efficiently, to arrive at work and scheduled appointments on time, not to abuse sick time or telephones.
Exhibit responsible performance in carrying out all necessary duties. Demonstrated willingness to accept new responsibilities, accept change.
Demonstrated knowledge of policies and procedures.
Knowledge of DDD systems and knowledge of current best practices in supported employment is preferable.
Other General Requirements
Age: Must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent
Work experience in job coaching preferable.
Restaurant experience is preferable
Maintain current Level One Clearance Card.
Maintain current CPR, First, Aid, Article IX, Prevention and Support
Must successfully clear a criminal background check and a Child Protective Services/Department of Children, Youth and their Families central registry check. All newly hired employees are subject to the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program.
