Junior Mechanical Engineer

A unique and long-standing merchandising solutions manufacturer based in Scranton, PA are on the search for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. We are looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer, who is open to learning new things and developing their skills. With over 50 years in the retail industry, my client have had the opportunity to bring new and innovative ideas to the world of consumer consumption.

To be considered for this role, you will require a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, experience using Autodesk Inventor, and hands on experience in a workshop operating a range of machinery and working on projects from concept through to building operational products. In exchange you will be offered an attractive salary circa up to $70k per annum, health care insurance, vision, dental, 401k and more.

The Role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer who has proven experience working in mechanical design where you will have the opportunity of delivering the design on a range of creative and complicated POS for a wide scale of well-known retailers. This role will include:

• Mechanical design innovation, developing functional concepts in CAD, proved out with working prototypes
• Lead DFM and oversea manufacturing development, working closely with overseas manufacturers, supplying suppliers and product partners
• Lead production and assembly of the product through both key prototyping phases and through to mass production
  
  

Key Requirements

To be a credible candidate for this Junior Mechanical Engineer vacancy, you will need to satisfy the following minimum requirements:

• Degree qualified in relevant engineering (Mechanical Engineering/Product Design)
• Capable of using Autodesk Inventor
• Design for manufacture and assembly
• Plastic injection molding
• Plastic fabrication
• Experience working with plastics, acrylics, wood and glass.
