This Smart Start opportunity is for Kent State Students ONLY, in one of the following tracks:

  • Radiologic Technology (Rad Tech) Students
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Students
  • Computed Tomography (CT )Students

Are you a Kent State University Student currently enrolled in one of the tracks listed above? Do you want to join the medical field, but are concerned about finances and job prospects after graduation? The Summa Health Smart Start Ambassador Program through Kent State, may be for you! The Summa Health Smart Start Program gives select Kent State University students an opportunity to earn a degree with half of their school tuition paid or $2,000 per semester in living expenses. Program participants are then linked to a job at Summa Health after graduation!

  • Program participants must already be accepted into the specific program at Kent State University and must remain in good standing.
  • Each program participant works / completes Healthstream (remote) training a few hours each month at Summa Health
  • After graduation, Summa Health will link each program participant with a new job in their chosen field to fulfill a two-year work commitment at Summa Health.

Summary

Responsible for attending work related education and training sessions as part of Summa Smart Start program, performs office functions and non-clinical duties to assist both patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Formal Education Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience & Training Required:
  • Six (6) months of work experience interacting with customers or the general public
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work under high volume and fast paced conditions with frequent interruptions
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment by displaying a positive attitude, accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback; by supporting team goals and encouraging other team members
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with general public, employees, department heads, physicians and others contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet established deadlines
  • Ability to operate personal computer and other related office equipment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and demonstrates behaviors consistent with the customer service policy
  • Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
  • Level of Physical Demands:
  • Lifting: Floor to Standing 10-19 lbs.

$15.30/hr - $15.30/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
