Job Description
The Mariners Kids Coordinator is responsible for supporting the intentional experience and programming needs of the 2nd/3rd Elementary environment for all weekend services. The Coordinator will perform a variety of tasks related to weekend services (including some post-5:30p/11:30a service events). A priority will be given to inspiring and equipping volunteers and discipling kids into regular weekly attendance.
The Coordinator will:
Assist Elementary Pastor in planning and set-up of 2nd/3rd ministry environments
Assist in any planning or prep work required for ministry activities
Grow a volunteer team that oversees small groups, large group area which includes teachers and hosts, greeters, and coaches
Communicate, encourage and care for volunteers weekly through email, phone calls, and texts
Help recruit and onboard new volunteers
Develop, equip and lead a coaching team
Help with set up and tear down of kids environment
Work closely with the Preteen team to implement curriculum
Perform other Mariners Kids duties when requested
Qualifications
A love and passion for kids, families, and serving others
Authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
Commitment to personal spiritual growth.
Experience in Children’s Ministry or in Elementary education.
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Demonstrated ability to uphold and train teams in policies and procedures
Ability to manage, direct, and oversee teams of volunteers
Enjoys challenges and is highly adaptive to new ideas and changing environments
Highly relational with exceptional interpersonal skills
Professional and proactive with a positive demeanor
Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated prioritization, attention-to-detail, and administrative skills
Effective time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Advanced computer skills and experience with multiple application programs.
Sensitivity to confidential matters is required.
