Lab Planner

LPA is seeking a passionate Lab Planner to join our integrated team of architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and master planners. Our Dallas studio is continuing to grow, and you’ll have the opportunity to be a central part of our expansion. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members across studios on projects that are both local and across California and Texas.

You will be working with directors and principals in the studio and across the firm. We are looking to you to help us continue to develop our talented designers and engineers.

What You Will Do

  • You will serve as the primary point of contact for our key project stakeholders, engineering consultants and medical equipment vendors
  • Responsible for establishing project spatial usage programs, develop preliminary planning layouts and coordination with other project leaders
  • Design of creative spaces that define and shape the principles of innovative laboratory design.
  • Provide inspiration and guidance for strategic firm-wide initiatives to advance our Science & Technology project design, operations, and business development.
  • Develop content, research and technical white papers for internal and external thought leadership presentations and publications in collaboration with our Sustainability and Applied Research team.
  • Lead laboratory programming assignments and lab organization concepts.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and leadership for laboratory facilities in the areas of programming, design, fit-out planning, equipment planning, MEP systems integration planning, casework specification and construction administration.
  • Be an essential part of a project team working on all phases of a laboratory design project from Programming and Schematic Design through Construction Administration in Academic and/or Corporate Science & Technology sector.
  • Collaborate throughout the design process in developing high performance design strategies associated with the lab planning and building infrastructure approach.

Lab Planner Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture required
  • 10+ years of experience in all phases of architectural projects
  • Strong Revit knowledge
  • Expertise in building codes and construction as it relates to design and construction services
  • Architectural license preferred
