Want to be a Lead Aircraft Assembly Mechanic at Game Composites?

The Lead Aircraft Assembly Mechanic is responsible for organizing and managing final aircraft assembly, inspection, and testing. As a working lead position, they also install and test electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, structural, powerplant, and flight systems per engineering instructions. They use a variety of tools, instruments, measuring devices, equipment, and jigs to perform operations safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Professionally managing the workload of a team of aircraft assembly technicians under the guidance of production management.
  • Performing comprehensive annual inspections on GameBird aircraft according to Game Composites guidelines, FAA regulations, and company standards.
  • Validating total aircraft assembly is conforming to FAA-approved procedures.
  • Assisting in defining the operational standards for the work cell to include time and quality.
  • Ensuring first-time quality of the team and leading process improvement efforts with other departments.
  • Reading and understanding engineering blueprints and technical direction to build subassemblies and systems.
  • Using hand tools to drill, tighten, and connect components.
  • Using measurement and testing equipment to validate operational parameters.
  • Testing components and systems and troubleshooting as necessary to achieve engineered specifications.
  • Utilizing Foreign Object Debris and Damage Prevention techniques continually.
  • Completing checklists of own work and checking others' work as necessary.
  • Complying with all company policies on safe work practices.
  • Frequently working while walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, laying, and reaching.


Minimum requirements:

  • 5 (five) years of experience maintaining or assembling certified aircraft.
  • Active Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P License).
  • Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and industry standards related to aircraft maintenance and inspections.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of flight systems and composites, specifically carbon fiber.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Proficiency with utilizing precision measuring tools, aircraft assembly equipment, and intermediate mathematics necessary for job duties.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and safety to ensure world-class quality and finish.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and conflict resolution skills to support leading team members with different backgrounds and skill sets.
