Lead Analyst - Revenue Management

The Gig:

The Lead Analyst, Revenue Management role will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of day to day revenue management activities that include, coaching and the development of revenue analysts, sailing management and price implantation, ad hoc analysis and leading revenue projects. In addition to executing the Revenue Plan, this role will assist in the development of pricing strategies and will be accountable for tracking macroeconomic and industry trends, gathering competitive information, conducting analyses, and integrating large amounts of information to make actionable recommendations. This is a highly collaborative role - the Lead Revenue Analyst will work closely with others in the Revenue team, Sales (North America & International) Marketing, Voyage Travel Services, and other operational departments to achieve revenue goals.

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays as remote days.

What You'll Be Up To:

  • Assist in the coaching, development and mentoring of the team’s Sr. Revenue Analysts and Revenue Analysts
  • Acts as a resource for the Sr. Revenue Analysts and Revenue Analysts to come to regarding product performance, insights and best practices
  • Monitor booking and revenue performance for all product portfolios
  • Interact closely with the reservation system to ensure sailing management best practices are adhered to
  • Daily monitoring of inventory in the reservation system to ensure booking availability and minimize booking defenses
  • Lead execution of pricing and inventory adjustments conducive to the success of promotional activities
  • Evaluate occupancy, channels, sourcing, and promotional performance to inform pricing and inventory decisions
  • Execute on Revenue plan targets and objectives with direction from Revenue team leadership
  • Leverage business intelligence tools and analyze revenue reports to inform decision making and communicate findings to key stakeholders
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations for incremental revenue opportunities to Revenue team leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance revenue growth opportunities
  • Develop and provide support for Senior Leadership presentations
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses
  • Other duties as assigned

SuperPowers Required:

  • Prior Revenue Management experience in the cruise industry is required
  • Minimum 2 years of analytical experience focused on revenue optimization
  • Experience working with cruise reservation systems
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • Focus on a quantitative discipline preferred
  • Proven ability to work well with others in an open, unstructured environment
  • Proven ability to work fluidly with large datasets
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to think strategically to drive revenue growth
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (incl. Pivot tables, IF statements, VLOOKUPs)
  • Experience in interactive reporting and forecasting preferred
  • Tableau experience preferred
  • Seaware experience preferred
