Position Description

The Lead Irrigator reports directly to the Director of Agronomy and Landscaping or the Golf Course Superintendent. The primary role of the Lead Irrigator Is to maintain optimal golf course conditions by completing and overseeing irrigation tasks related to golf course maintenance. Tasks include but are not exclusive to oversight of special projects and labor crews, direction and training of golf maintenance Irrigation staff regarding the performance of specific tasks and staff adherence to Sensei policies, protocols and safety compliance. Communicates with the Golf Course Maintenance Forman to ensure all projects and daily tasks are completed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversees and ensures all tasks are completed as scheduled and meet the standards that have been set
  • Ensure safe working conditions for the staff
  • Supervises special projects and labor crews
  • Oversees golf operations in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent and Forman
  • Performs all tasks related to golf course maintenance, e.g. irrigation, fertilizer application, operating all machinery, and cutting cups,
  • Irrigation inventory and parts ordering
  • Schedule and coordinate tasks for the Greenkeeping staff
  • Instruct staff on the safe and proper instruction of equipment, including preventative maintenance as needed
  • Ensure staff is knowledgeable and aware of guests’ activities and events around the property
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in all workspaces
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and abide by all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all company and departmental guidelines
  • Report any hazards, injuries, and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
  • Demonstrate warmth and sincerity in all interactions
  • Take ownership of all guest requests and be proactive in ensuring resolution as needed
  • Always maintain impeccable grooming and personal hygiene and wear uniform as directed
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor in both verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Uphold Sensei values in daily practices
  • Successfully complete all training and certifications needed for the position
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all guests
  • Adhere to all Sensei Porcupine Creek policies and procedures
  • Report all faulty equipment, supply needs, maintenance needs, safety hazards, injuries, and other concerns immediately to your supervisor
  • Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
  • Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
  • Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 3 years of golf course maintenance experience
  • Previous experience as a Golf Course Irrigator
  • Must have attention to detail
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license and maintain a clean DMV record
