Position Overview:

Aksia is actively seeking a lawyer to join our Legal & Compliance department. The Legal & Compliance department is responsible for overseeing the legal and regulatory affairs of Aksia, an SEC registered investment advisor with global affiliates. This position will provide legal support to Aksia’s offices globally with a focus on investment structuring and deal work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with legal structuring and oversight of private markets fund formation, including negotiation of offering documents and ancillary service provider agreements
  • Negotiate assignment, participation, and other transactional agreements in connection with investments made by Aksia’s private funds
  • Assist with project management and oversight of outside counsel engagements
  • Assist with ad-hoc legal work

Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney within the Investment Management/Private Funds group of a law firm
  • Experience in private markets fund formation
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including project management
  • Strong writing and communication skills

Base Pay/Salary

The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $215,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Aksia provides a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local cost of labor.
