Lending Quality Control Compliance Manager

Purpose

Direct the review of lending procedures and practices implemented by lending departments. Focus is on ensuring compliance with departmental procedures, regulatory compliance, and adequacy of documentation. The position will actively supervise a team of employees who perform the following functions:

  • Monitor and review applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review quality control policies and procedures.
  • Provide advisory services relative to lending quality control matters.
  • Perform risk assessments, testing and monitoring.

Duties

The position will also be responsible for the management of applicable quality control related tasks. The position directs and manages a team of direct report Analysts and/or Specialists. The position works closely with the business units, departments as well as provides support with quality control issues requiring a high level of compliance and banking expertise and experience. The position is accountable for coordinating highly complex quality control audits and relationships, as well as responding to internal requests for guidance. The role will require the ability to work independently and develop creative solutions to highly complex topics. The position will also provide Department wide analysis and development of innovative monitoring and oversight methods, designed to reduce the need for sample testing to evaluate control effectiveness.

The position maintains significant enterprise-wide span of control and influence to ensure quality control objectives are achieved.

Requirements

Must have 5 years of work experience in the field of quality control or equivalent experience.

Must be able to effectively manage a team.

Must have strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must be able to manage projects involving cross functional teams and technical resources.

Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by manager.

Must be proficient using available resources to acquire information regarding lending regulations, as well as credit union policies and guidelines.

Must be cordial in all interactions with members and co-workers.

Demonstrates a willingness to adapt to changing business practices.

Obtain a compliance designation within 12 months of hire (CUCE, NCCO, or CRCM)

Job Environment

Office setting with physical proximity to other employees and Work From Home (WFH) permitted as determined by departmental needs. Some background noise from other employees, copy machine, and telephone.

Physical Demands

Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Job requires a substantial amount of sitting.

Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information.

Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver.

Must be able to comprehend phone calls.

Must be able to lift 5 pounds.
