Maintenance Industrial Project Manager

What To Expect

This management position will be responsible for facility and equipment maintenance supporting plant Safety, Quality, Cost, and Regulatory compliance. This role is also responsible for Capex Investments and Industrial Projects activities to refurbish and acquire new equipment. Requires the ability to solve problems in a manufacturing environment using excellent diagnostic, monitoring and trouble-shooting skills. Must possess a working knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and problem solving experience in both areas and have the ability to teach and mentor others in problem solving mechanical and electrical issues. Will work with staff in various other functions to ensure goals and plant objectives are met. Must be able to multitask and effectively manage multiple initiatives. Must have experience in equipment and facility maintenance management roles and machine development or equipment revamp. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

  • Prepares and coordinates maintenance schedules to achieve monthly PM and Calibration compliance on time as well as complete needed workload list and continuous improvement activities.
  • Oversees diagnostic, monitoring, trouble shooting, root cause, repair and preventive maintenance of company's facilities, manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, HVAC, boiler and air compressors.
  • Implement and conduct routine predictive testing to increase machine reliability including vibration analysis, air leak detection, thermo inspection etc.
  • Supervises maintenance facilitators on multiple shifts.
  • Uses plant computerized maintenance management system to schedule PM, assign personnel, order parts, and maintain appropriate level of critical spare parts inventory.
  • Administers and maintains the Gates TPM program
  • Responsibilities include repair cost monitoring, and departmental labor, parts, outside services, and supplies budgeting and cost reduction in all areas.
  • Works with the other members of the team to coordinate and oversee various capital or repair projects as required.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and company safety policies and procedures within maintenance department at all times.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with, and maintaining comprehensive records regarding, all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Contracting with and overseeing the activities of various contractors for the fulfillment of plant/facilities maintenance responsibilities reviewing and monitoring cost and quality of work.
  • Develops and implements new and Lean methods, procedures, and systems to improve OEE on machinery.
  • Tracks, monitors and improves top downtime contributors to drive success in the organization.
  • Analyze plant KPI`s to prepare and ensure compatible Capex Annual Plan to enhance performance.
  • Control Capex budget according to planned schedules.
  • Coordinate industrial engineer team on projects to prioritize Safety, Quality and Delivery solutions for Operations teams.

About You

  • BS/BA or equivalent (8 years of experience) with 3 years specific experience
  • Prefer BA/BS degree in engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience in management or supervision of maintenance function in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong and effective management and supervisory skills are required, including planning, organizing, communicating, influencing, gathering and using information, and motivating to achieve results.
  • Must be computer literate and experienced with predictive/preventive maintenance software.
  • Must be familiar with regulatory and safety codes.
  • Has a sense of urgency and excellent responsiveness.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to work with a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and work under pressure.
  • Ability and willing to work flexible hours and with changing priorities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-Time
  • Salary: $122,610.00-$147,100.00
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
