Description

Supports leadership with the activities of the Academic Technology Support Center (ATSC) to provide guidance regarding academic technology. The Manager of Academic Technologies is the advocate for effective instruction in classroom and hybrid instructional models.

  • Plans and implements campus-wide academic technology support and maintenance, including electronic classroom enhancements and distance education remote sites.
  • Investigates, proposes, and participates in decision making for the purchase of new software and technology.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, administrators, and vendors to introduce new academic technologies as integral parts of classroom design.
  • Reviews, proposes, and implements new technologies; encourages innovative presentation and academic technologies as integral parts of classroom design.
  • Researches and assists faculty in the development of new and innovative academic technology experiences.
  • Trains faculty to use new academic technologies and create educational content to support classroom and remote instruction.
  • Collaborates with and assists internal and system-wide instructional designers.
  • Attends national conferences to remain informed of current and new technologies.
  • Manages the department budget and staff; evaluates and modifies service and operational policies and procedures.

Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 3 years experience

Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Preferred: Master's Degree.Experience: Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.Certification/Licensing: None.
