Job Description

Job Overview:

Lead and manage the direction of the TriHealth Clinical Pastoral Education accredited center with the emphasis on strategic long term planning, system and programming growth, accreditation requirements, budget and implementation of Pastoral Care initiatives. The manager will plan, manage, coordinate and oversee the education program, students, accreditation, student contracts, placement agreements through out system and quality of care to patients, families and team members. The manager will lead, teach and manage the Clinical Pastoral Education program maintain accreditation, curriculum development, site mentor development, advisory board participation and documentation requirements. The manage will also assist in providing pastoral care in conjunction with the chaplains to meet the pastoral and educational needs of patients, families and team members. The manager will also assist the VP of Mission and Culture in the teaching and public presentation of the Mission and Values at various forums with patients, families and team members. The Manager of Clinical Pastoral Education reports directly to the Vice President of Mission and Culture.

Job Requirements

Master's Degree in Theology; Master's Degree in theology, religion or divinity and ordination or endorsement by a recognized faith group Needs to have appropriate certification/candidacy to conduct and manage Clinical Pastoral Education

Board Certified or Candidate Educator by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)., Board Certified Chaplain (Association of Professional Chaplains or National Association of Catholic Chaplains or National Association of Jewish Chaplains) and appropriate certification as a CPE Supervisor/Educator

Appropriate certification with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education to lead, teach, manage programs Knowledge of office application and operational oversight

Association for Clinical Pastoral Education as well as one of the following groups: Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains or National Association of Jewish Chaplains or Association of Spiritual Care preferred.

3-4 years experience Clinical Pastoral Educator experience and chaplaincy experience

Conduct department huddles. Generally, clinical departments hold daily huddles, non-clinical hold weekly huddles.

Regularly Round on Team Members, using questions from the rounding log.

  • 25 or fewer team members = monthly
  • 26-50 team members = every other month
  • 51+ (and optional team members) = quarterly

Lead monthly team meetings using meeting agenda template; review stoplight report; cascade key leadership messages.
