The Manager of Digital Channels Technology is responsible for providing expertise and input to the Credit Union's Digital Channels strategic plan and manage the team of software developers and support personnel to design, develop, implement, and maintain customer-facing and internal applications. The manager is also responsible for maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings for the Digital Channels platform.
•Provides input to the Digital Channels strategic plan, incorporating industry trends, customer feedback, and employee input.
•Manages department development tasks with cross departmental teams and external resources while adhering to deadlines, resource constraints, and competing demands.
•Leads staff in their responsibilities to enhance, update, and improve Digital Banking and related solutions, by ensuring they:
- Research, test, build, and coordinate the integration of new products per organizational requirements.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement software for digital banking and related applications.
- Analyze and revise existing applications to increase/optimize operating efficiency, adapt to new requirements, or address customer service-related issues.
- Work with technical staff to understand problems with software and develop specifications to resolve them.
- Integrate databases, online transaction systems, and other solutions per organizational requirements.
•Remains an active participant in the design and development of applications.
•Contributes to and follows policies and procedures to provide the highest level of quality, reliability, and information security for Digital Channel products.
•Analyzes and implements process improvements for accurate, timely, and efficient operations.
•Recruits, leads, develops staff and provides opportunities for individual growth. Ensures that assigned staff are properly trained and follow all organizational guidelines.
•Periodically conducts performance evaluations and reviews job requirements to ensure ongoing alignment with organizational goals and market conditions.
•Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration among department staff and other departments. Motivates and encourages the team and resolves employee relations issues.
•Performs Business Resumption planning and exercises for assigned departments, validates the adequacy of the plans and makes necessary changes to ensure information is timely and relevant.
•In coordination with department VP:
- Develops annual objectives and budgets and leads the department to accomplish approved objectives within the approved budgets, with proactive management of budget variances.
- Manages relationships with vendors to ensure maximum benefit for the credit union, its customers and to achieve departmental goals.
Education
Education Level:
Minimum-4 Year / Bachelors Degree
Preferred- Graduate Degree
Description:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or Related Field is required.
Masters’ Degree in Business, Technology, or Related Field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum Years of Experience: 5
Preferred Years of Experience: 7
Comments: 5-7 or more years of experience in high-performing technology teams and recent experience working within the financial industry.
Experience in managing or leading a team is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
- Conceptual and technical understanding of Internet architecture and infrastructure for E-Commerce applications.
- Ability to specify technical requirements to development teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of software development best practices.
- Recent and relevant experience with the following technologies in a senior or lead capacity: object-oriented design and programming, secure coding practices, n-tier architecture, Microsoft .NET Framework/Core, WCF, microservices, cross platform frameworks (Flutter, etc.), authentication/authorization (OAuth, SAML), Web API, and web technologies (JavaScript, JSON, XML).
- Experience working with relational databases.
- Experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, Containerization, and Symitar are highly desirable.
