Job Summary:
Our client is looking for a Denver-based developer to join their award winning team in Colorado and to eventually move into additional states. The Managing Director of Multi-family Real Estate Development is responsible for building and leading the firm’s ground up development program for the western mountain region. The program is focused on sites and opportunities throughout the Intermountain West markets, including several existing pipeline opportunities. The leader in this position will develop and create hard assets/buildings.
Primary responsibilities for this senior level position include:
Sourcing new ground-up development sites and acting as development point person through the full project life cycle.
Sourcing of sites is imperative, as is current significant knowledge of and relationships with the metro Denver markets.
Responsibilities also include:
Assisting in managing the design team (e.g., architect, civil, MEPS, land planning, interior design) and working jointly with the construction, property management and asset management teams in handling lease-up and operations.
This position works closely with the President of Multi-Family Development and participates in presentations to the Investment Committee.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Executing a jointly established multi-family development business plan and accountability for those sub-markets and their P&L
Sourcing viable multi-family sites, which will be the primary goal.
Building and leading a best-in-class team to acquire and design projects, with engagement in construction, property management and asset management
Working closely with leadership to effectively market the firm and raise ongoing capital around the multi-family platform
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of
7 years’ experience in multi-family real estate development, construction, and related disciplines with particular emphasis on ground-up multi-family (multifamily) housing.
An established track record of leading teams and successfully delivering institutional-quality projects across multiple sub-markets is key.
Candidates should be energized by working in a high-growth entrepreneurial environment with an eye toward building a dominant real estate development and investment company.
A bachelor’s degree in business or engineering is required; an MBA is preferred.
Strong quantitative skills are essential.
