Position Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for supervising assigned raw materials/mix production department employees; performs administrative tasks and maintains communications associated with the activities of a production shift. Assumes responsibility for the shift’s performance in safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control; for employee relationships and for effectiveness of communications relevant to shift performance and the attainment of plant goals.

Assumes responsibility for the shift’s performance in safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control; for employee relationships and for effectiveness of communications relevant to shift performance and the attainment of plant goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Observes plant safety rules.
- Checks assigned area and equipment for compliance with safety specifications.
- Required to wear or use the appropriate safety gear while performing designed tasks.
- Participates in 5S initiatives by maintaining a neat and orderly work area.
- Assists in preparation of production area for housekeeping inspections and inventory taking.
- Relays appropriate information to supervisor.
- Passes comments, concerns and relevant information about employees to supervisor.
- Maintains effective lateral communications with others whose work affects that of his shift.
- Reports any grievances or potential conflicts that may affect the overall performance of his shift.
- Completes and accurately documents daily Mixing/Drying and Raw Materials reports.
- Records Raw Material measurements and temperatures as needed.
- Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of them self, others or to property.
- Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
- Requires regular attendance to perform essential job functions between the assigned start and end times for work.
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community.
- Maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- Performs such individual assignments as management may direct
- Performs all job duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Contributes to Plant cost reduction
- Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum one year’s experience in an industrial environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of production equipment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Machine Operator-Mix/drying and Raw material Plant duties
- Experience in operating a front end/wheel loader is preferred
- Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Ability to work overtime and occasionally on weekends with short notice
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
- Typical manufacturing environment with concrete floors and moving equipment
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures & weather conditions
