Mechanical Design Engineer II – Structures
Location: Kent, WA; El Segundo, CA; Van Horn, TX; Merritt Island, FL; or Highlands Ranch, CO

Compensation: $40 - $65/HR DOE and location
Role Overview: We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II with expertise in structures for various aerospace applications. As part of our dedicated team, you will design and develop structural and mechanical subsystems for spaceflight systems.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the entire design cycle, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.
Generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents.
Document assembly and testing of development and flight hardware.
Participate in subsystem-level testing, including planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis.
Develop component specifications and manage suppliers.
Provide manufacturing and production support.
Participate in the development and purchase of new equipment and tooling.
Collaborate with multi-functional teams for material selection, manufacturing processes, and supplier management.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering.
2-4 years of aerospace/space industry experience.
Proficiency in Creo or Catia, with Creo preferred.
Experience with 3D parametric modeling and primary structure detail drawing release.
Familiarity with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10.
Expertise with analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, LS/Dyna, Abaqus.
Awareness of metallic and composite design and analysis considerations.
Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware.
Knowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
Experience with optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing.
Experience developing manufacturing processes for transition to production.
