Medical & Billing Coder - Remote | WFH

Job Summary

In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise to review medical records and associated reports to ensure accurate medical billing and coding. Collaboration with fellow reviewers and office teams is key to clarifying information and meeting client deadlines effectively.

Core Responsibilities

Evaluate codes for accuracy and compliance with program standards.

Ensure proper matching of medical records to codes, acquiring additional records when necessary.

Apply policy guidelines and healthcare terminology to determine compliance.

Assess claims for conflict of interest and criteria appropriateness.

Adhere to program timelines and deliver high-quality, error-free results.

Provide exceptional customer service, working closely with clients to ensure comprehensive case resolution.

Offer clinical oversight for complex cases requiring additional review.

Contribute to quality assurance efforts by applying clinical knowledge to address issues proactively.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

CPC, AAPC, or DRG coder certification required.

Experience In Payment Integrity Or Professional Bill Review Preferred.

Out-of-network bill review experience is advantageous.

Background in a medical office or healthcare setting is beneficial.

Skills

Remote work experience is preferred.

Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.

Self-motivated with a commitment to performance excellence.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in various computer programs; familiarity with Google Chrome, Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc., is a plus.

Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
