Mental Health Outpatient Clinical Leader

Responsibilities:

Hiring, Training, and Staff Management

  • Participate in the hiring process for all therapists at the clinic.
  • Provide comprehensive training for new hires, ensuring adherence to all clinical and operational policies and procedures.
  • Assess ongoing development and training needs; conduct ongoing training sessions as needed.
  • Hold staff accountable for meeting performance expectations with a compassionate approach.
  • Manage staff performance, including implementing Performance Coaching, Performance Improvement Plans, and handling the termination process if necessary.


Supervision and Consultation

  • Oversee peer consultation groups to ensure clinical excellence and alignment with best practices.
  • Provide clinical oversight to Mental Health Practitioners and Professionals, including signing clinical documentation for pre-licensed providers.
  • Participate in Clinic Director Peer Consult Group.
  • Lead clinicians through 1:1 meetings to accomplish all job objectives, including productivity, caseload management, and clinical documentation
  • Inspire confidence and motivation; clearly define expectations, and maintain personal effectiveness under pressure
  • Lead performance review process for all clinicians
  • Empower staff to achieve their best professionally and guide them through creative problem solving


Client Care

  • Maintain a caseload of 15-20 patients per week.
  • Evaluate mental health diagnoses, create and implement treatment plans, complete ongoing documentation including further diagnoses, treatment plan reviews, and case notes according to company policy.
  • Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals.
  • Prepare and submit individual documentation for each session per company guidelines and protocols.
  • Coordinate services with case managers, families, work personnel, medical personnel, other staff, and school staff as needed.


Clinic Oversight

  • Drive Clinic Performance measured through three core data points: financial performance, staff retention/engagement data, and program outcomes/quality data.
  • Supervise, review, and maintain detailed records on clinicians’ performance and development plans. Prepare paperwork, monthly reports, coordinate and train staff accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the franchise owner and corporate staff to implement strategies for fiscal and clinical efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage clinic office schedules and office supplies.
  • Provide timely responses to concerns raised by clients, clinicians, or external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the point of contact for building management-related issues or concerns.


Clinic Outreach, Marketing, and Networking

  • Lead community outreach and engagement efforts, in collaboration with the franchise owner and consistent with guidance from the Outreach Team.
  • Collaborate with the Ellie Marketing Team to promote the clinic’s online visibility.


Organizational Leadership

  • Collaborate with the franchise owner and Corporate Team to implement all required policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client care, quality, and effectiveness, and implement changes in collaboration with the franchise owner.
  • Manage day-to-day clinical operations to ensure clinic operational excellence.
  • Develop and oversee clinic protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative clinic culture.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in a mental health discipline.
  • Must be a Board Approved Supervisor
  • Independently licensed with a South Carolina-issued clinical practice license (e.g., LISW, LMFT, LPC, LP).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and executive skill sets.
  • In-depth knowledge of state requirements regulating mental health practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Adept at learning and navigating Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
