Experience working with Configuration, supporting in MicroStrategy environment.
This team supports 30+ Applications, so the candidates should have experience supporting multiple Servers, enterprise, and projects.
The team will be migrating to Cloud AWS.
Postgres SQL is Plus
AWS is nice to have, but not required. The main focus will be MicroStrategy.
Experience in a Linux and Apache processing environment
Some Scripting experience is good to have as to do Automation.
There will be on call rotation call once in a week, however the MicroStrategy environments is stable and has the production support team.
This is a backfill role and 100% remote. However, the clients wants candidates local to DC, VA MD and VW this will be there first preference. If a candidate is a ROCKSTAR then we will try to submit from NJ NY FL PA and TX, but it is better to submit from DC, VA MD WV.
Job Description: This is a The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for design, change code and modernize MicroStrategy to integrate with Big Data in the Cloud AWS.
Responsibilities
Modernize existing code to integrate MicroStrategy and Big Data technology in AWS including integrate and utilize different database such as PostgreSQL, EMR, Snowflake
Help with performance tuning and develop best practices
Design secure code and environment
Provide support to cross teams and cross projects with deployment and upgrade including troubleshooting of incidents to maintain the required service level.
Work on complex, major or highly visible tasks in support of multiple projects that require multiple areas of expertise in an Enterprise environment
Automation and DevOPs for MicroStrategy and Big Data technology
Required Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in administration and support of MicroStrategy and Big data
2+ years of experience with AWS (S3, RedShift, EC2)
5-8 years of experience in a Linux and Apache processing environment
5-8 years of experience with Unix shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL
Ability to modify the environment to ensure scaling, reliability and performance of the environment
Experience working with and/or building automation tools, Migration, Administration, Library, MicroStrategy Mobile and Mobile App, Performance, Security, Customizations (SDK), both for configuration and testing
Must be able to benchmark systems and analyze system bottlenecks in a hybrid environment and propose solutions to eliminate them.
Experience with automation scripting. You will be responsible for researching and providing recommendations on automating administration tasks.
Ability to work and collaborate in a fast pace and multi-tasking in an Enterprise and virtual environment
Excellent communication and team-oriented individual
Excellent in debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting with across teams, with bug fixes, software upgrades and escalations.
Prior experience with Big Data platforms (Cloudera, Presto, etc.) is a Plus
Experience with Ab Initio and MicroStrategy integration is a Plus
Certification for AWS and/or GCP is a plus
