12+ month contract through QUALA

$38 - $44 Hourly / Full Benefits

Job Description: Network Engineer

Quala is seeking an associate level Network Engineer for a contract opportunity. You will be working within a Redmond, WA based organization that is a leader in the software and consumer electronics industry. This is an opportunity to be part of a specialized internal IT team where your responsibilities will include working on both physical and virtual hardware.

The role will consist of 20% working with physical hardware, 70% with cloud and virtual hardware, 10% troubleshooting and ticket work through helpdesk.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure services, configuration, and networking within an enterprise multi-site hybrid environment AND proven experience with Arista, Aruba and Palo Alto hardware and software.

Summary:

The main function of a Network Engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.

Job Responsibilities:

• Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands

• Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs

• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades

• Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems

• Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas

• Develop and implement solutions for network problems

• Maintain multi-site connectivity, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

• 2-4 years’ experience required

• Network/systems administration/related work experience required

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus

• Minimum 6 months experience with Azure services

• Minimum 6 months experience with Arista

• Minimum 6 months experience with Aruba

• Minimum 6 months experience with Palo Alto

• Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage

• Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software

• Experience with Azure services, configuration, and networking within an enterprise multi-site hybrid environment

• Experience with system planning and capacity tools and analyses

• Experience with connectivity, configuration, and performance between physical and virtual hardware
