We are seeking a skilled Network/Firewall Engineer with specialized experience in WatchGuard Firewall systems to join our team on a 3-month contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, particularly in the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure with a focus on firewall management using WatchGuard technologies. This position requires both technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain WatchGuard Firewall systems to ensure the security and integrity of the network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and security measures, identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities and threats.
Collaborate with other team members to implement network security policies and procedures in alignment with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify risks and implement necessary controls and configurations.
Troubleshoot network and firewall-related issues, providing timely resolution and support to minimize downtime.
Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, policies, and procedures.
Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in network security and firewall management.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as a Network/Firewall Engineer in designing, implementing, and managing network infrastructure.
Strong expertise in WatchGuard Firewall technologies, including configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security standards, and best practices.
Hands-on experience with network monitoring and security tools.
Familiarity with industry compliance standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Relevant certifications (e.g., WatchGuard Certified System Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), etc.) preferred.
