With the support of the office manager, the Optician is responsible for assisting our guests with their visual and fashion needs. You will play a key role in the guest experience, culture, and success of South Valley Optical.
The details
Compensation: $17-24/hr; dependent on experience
Schedule: Full time; Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Friday 8am -12pm
What you'll do
Deliver a world class customer service experience to each guest
Maintain a high level of office and personal cleanliness to protect against the spread of infections to the guests and staff
Exceed all HIPAA and privacy standards
Develop relationships of trust with guests, associates, managers, and doctors
Office tasks
Learn and understand the Electronic Health Records System
Answer phones, make appointments, solve guest's issues, respond to emails and texts, and maintain a calm demeanor in medical emergency cases
Pretest and perform other medical tests requested by the doctor
Maintain office cleanliness for guests and staff
Assist with inventory and lab communication
Have a working knowledge of vision insurance an how to apply benefits to purchases
Glasses and sunglasses
Assist guests in choosing eyewear that is fashion forward in addition to:
Assuring the eyewear is appropriate for the guest's prescription
Educating guests on lens designs, materials, and coatings to best fit their lifestyles
Taking appropriate measurements for exact visual clarity
Contact lenses
Educate and train guests on:
Contact lens insertion and removal
Contact lens hygiene and eye health
Place contact lens orders in EHR software and the 1-800 Contacts call center app
Issue RMAs, refunds, and credits for unused contacts
