The College of Law invites applications for part-time single term instructors to teach one or more of the following courses: Tax I (basic federal individual income taxation), Tax II (partnership and corporation taxation), International Tax, Labor Law, Real Estate Law, Secured Transactions, Sales, International IP, First Amendment, Legal Writing and Research (introductory course), Appellate Advocacy (brief writing and oral argument), Scholarly Writing, HIPAA and Privacy, Healthcare Fraud and Abuse, Bankruptcy,
Courses would be taught starting in the 2023-24 academic year. Duties would include teaching, student interaction, and grading.
The University is opening this posting for the purposes of establishing a pool of candidates, from which to select part-time instructor candidates.
Throughout the academic year, individuals may be contacted by the department to further discuss positions available, on an as needed, semester by semester basis.
Service as a part-time single term instructor does not accrue tenure rights. Part-time single term instructors serve by the mutual agreement expressed in each successive contract executed and are engaged to teach at the convenience of the university.
A part-time single term instructor shall not have teaching responsibilities exceeding nine credit hours per semester, and no other responsibilities such as to accrue to full-time faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or equivalent degree (in rare cases where an exception can be justified on academic grounds, professional experience may be considered in lieu of a J.D.).
