Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) is a leading provider of outpatient therapy programs dedicated to the mental health and well-being of adolescents. In addition to our comprehensive therapeutic services, we offer individualized educational support to address the diverse needs of young individuals. Our mission is to empower young people through personalized therapeutic and educational services that foster emotional resilience, self-awareness, and overall mental health.

We are looking for a certified and experienced High School Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in middle school/high school education and a passion for helping students achieve academic success. This position requires an individual who can provide personalized instruction and support to high school students in various subjects. Experience in the mental health sector is preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to high school students in subjects such as Math, Science, English, and Social Studies
  • Develop and implement customized lesson plans and strategies to address the individual needs of each student
  • Assist students with homework, test preparation, and overall comprehension of the material
  • Track and report on student progress, offering feedback and communicating with parents and teachers as needed
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and enhance their learning experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification/license for high school education
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching high school students
  • Strong knowledge of high school curriculum and standards in subjects such as Math, Science, English, and Social Studies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with standardized test preparation (e.g., SAT, ACT)
  • Familiarity with virtual educational platforms and digital learning tools


  • Working Hours:

    • Monday - Friday 9am-10:30am

    Compensation:

    • $70/hour
