The Learning Services Program, a program for first year students with learning disabilities, is looking for two Writing Mentors for the academic year. The Writing Mentors will provide individual assistance in one-on-one weekly meetings to students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.

General Information:
- Position Title: Writing Mentor, Learning Services Program.
- Home Department: Academic Support and Access Center.
The Learning Services Program, a program for first year students with learning disabilities, is looking for two Writing Mentors for the academic year. The Writing Mentors will provide individual assistance in one-on-one weekly meetings to students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder.
Essential Functions
- Reviewing academic writing.
- Offering instruction.
- Making recommendations for improving writing skills and proofreading and editing.
- Training and supervision will be provided.
- Hours are expected to be about 15 hours per week for each Writing Mentor, and the position will start in late August.
- $17.50 - $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- B.A. in related field.
- Experience or training in teaching or tutoring writing required, preferably to individuals with learning disabilities.
- The Writing Mentor position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, patience in working with others, and attention to detail.
- M.A. preferred.

- Hiring offers for this position are contingent on successful completion of a background check.
