Parts Manager

Primary Function

Directly responsible for the management and/or supervision of the Parts Department in its entirety as it relates to the goals of your perspective branch and Branch Manager.

PERSONNEL DEVELOPMENT

  • Working with recruitment and HR to maintain staff levels that appropriately support customer demand.
  • Working directly with personnel to ensure proper job function performance.
  • Maintaining continuous personnel improvement processes that include cross training and management support.
  • Communicating effectively with personnel to promote growth and high morale.
  • Working with other department managers to encourage cross departmental workflow.

DEPARTMENTAL PROCESS AND PROCEDURE

  • Maintaining and managing inventory levels that both enhance customer service and maintain corporate goals.
  • Ensuring established policies and procedures are being followed and performed accordingly.
  • Assisting with policy and procedure enhancements to encourage an environment that promotes an ease of business.
  • Hold weekly departmental meetings to address comments, questions and/or concerns as it relates to productivity of the department.

BUSINESS GROWTH

  • Regularly schedule time to spend in the market managing, maintaining and increasing customer relationships.
  • Regularly review the Monthly Operating Statement (M.O.S.) to measure:
    • Departmental financial state (forecast vs. current)
    • Areas for improvement
    • Staffing levels
  • Evaluating the market to determine appropriate means for gaining market share.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Complete and maintain all factory certifications within 180 days of original date of hire
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous parts experience (management preferred)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proactive thinking
