Exciting Opportunity: Patient Services Representative

Position Details

  • Contract: 8+ months, with potential for extension or conversion to full-time
  • Start Date: September 3rd
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8 AM - 9 PM EST
  • Compensation: $18/hour
  • Location: Remote (EST or CST preferred, some state restrictions apply)

About The Role

As a Patient Services Representative, you'll play a crucial role in supporting patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers. Working under the guidance of an Operations Manager, you'll help coordinate access to vital therapies and ensure a smooth experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound calls and general program inquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Assist patients in navigating support programs (Copay, Patient Assistance Programs, Medicaid, etc.)
  • Coordinate with pharmacies and process wholesale orders
  • Manage follow-up activities, including gathering missing information and assisting with prior authorizations
  • Report adverse events as directed
  • Research and resolve claim denials or underpayments
  • Utilize various approved methods to collect information (phone, fax, mail, online)
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolving requests promptly and accurately
  • Identify and report trends or delays to program management
  • Ensure all program correspondence meets quality standards
  • Collaborate with patients, providers, and internal teams to gather necessary documentation
  • Exercise good judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate actions

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ years of customer service or high-volume call center experience
  • 6+ months of experience in the medical, healthcare, or insurance industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently from a queue
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
