Performance Tester

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Performance Tester to join our QA team. The Performance Tester will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests to assess the scalability, reliability, and stability of our software applications under various load conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing methodologies, tools, and performance tuning.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand application performance requirements and define performance testing objectives.
• Design and develop performance test plans, test scenarios, and scripts based on non-functional requirements and performance metrics.
• Configure and maintain performance testing environments, tools, and infrastructure.
• Execute performance tests using industry-standard tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling) to simulate load, stress, and endurance scenarios.
• Monitor system performance metrics (e.g., response time, throughput, resource utilization) during test execution and analyze results.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and scalability issues through performance profiling and analysis.
• Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend performance optimization strategies.
• Document and report performance test results, findings, and recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for performance testing processes, methodologies, and tools.
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (relevant experience and certifications may substitute).
• Proven experience as a Performance Tester, QA Engineer with a focus on performance testing, or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing performance testing projects.
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for test automation and performance scripting.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and techniques to analyze system metrics and identify performance bottlenecks.
• Understanding of web technologies, client-server architectures, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for performance testing in cloud environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
