Guided Search Partner's is representing a leading automotive supplier in the Austin, Texas area on a search for a Plant Controller. The Plant Controller is responsible for financial reporting and general accounting support, forecasting, plant budgets, incentive investigation and submission of required documents, capital budgeting and authorization reviews, product costing, reviews of product profitability, and preparing metrics for review at the plant level. This position is fully onsite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for preparation of monthly income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Performing financial analysis and trend analysis.
• Participate in daily and weekly plant operation and strategy meetings.
• Assist plant general manager and senior finance management with financial analysis and other financial support.
• Drive identification of action items to generate profit improvement activity.
• Assist program management with program financial analysis for review with Senior Leadership to ensure attention to program profitability.
• Identify process improvement in both production reporting system and accounting/finance to increase plant and corporate efficiencies.
• Provide key metric information and other financial profit drivers to guide the plant general manager to business decisions.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Assuring compliance with Company financial policies, internal controls and procedures.
• Capital budgeting, authorization reviews and financial payback calculations, and follow up audits. • Develop annual overhead rates for cost accounting and review of variances.
• Review of product profitability and presentation to various levels of management.
• Other financial projects as required by Corporate Finance or local plant management.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business from a four-year college or university is required.
• Five to seven years of controlling or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Automotive experience a plus
• Proficient use of Microsoft Products.
