Shift:

2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday

3rd shift: 10pm-6:30am, Monday - Friday

Overview:

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a Production Supervisor for our client, located in Plano, TX. This hands-on role involves supervising and overseeing production operations for the Finishing and Press departments. The ideal candidate will come from a background in label, package, or printing industries and possess strong supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate activities of press operators.
• Inspect plates, web, and other materials to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Verify color match of jobs to job specifications.
• Ensure availability of plates, inks, and other materials in advance of production.
• Direct setup and adjustments of presses with high attention to detail.
• Maintain and make minor repairs to equipment.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements.
• Enforce safety regulations and company policies.
• Interpret specifications and job orders for workers and assign duties.
• Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Implement and follow Lean Manufacturing procedures.
• Motivate workers to achieve goals and provide training and guidance.
• Maintain production records efficiently.
• Coordinate activities with other management team members.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas organized.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise personnel in the Press and Finishing departments.
• Train employees, plan and direct work, appraise performance, and handle disciplinary actions.
• Address complaints and resolve problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree (preferred) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• At least five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in printing, packaging, or similar industries.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory or lead experience with a successful track record of leading teams.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from employees and management.
• Physical ability to stand and walk regularly and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
