Job Description

Provide high-quality process support and technical leadership to the mill’s operations group resulting in improved product quality, productivity, and reduced costs.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and projects/events throughout the mill, and potentially at other Pixelle facilities
  • Evaluate product improvement or cost optimization projects by conducting trials including development of trial plans and authoring trial reports
  • Provide back up support to the Mill Improvement Process (MIP) Manager
  • Develop process improvement project scopes, potential savings calculations, and project charter documents
  • Improve productivity and reduce operating costs
  • Provide technical support for key departments
  • Provide problem solving and analytical skills and leadership
  • Potential travel to other Pixelle facilities to provide support, training, and leadership for data analysis processes and projects
  • Work safely

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and/or Paper Science is preferred; however, a BS in other engineering disciplines will be considered.
  • Experience in process engineering in an industrial setting preferred but not required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Black Belt, Green Belt, or LSS project experience is preferred but not required
