Summary:


The Assistant Vice President , Procurement will oversee all contracts and procurement policies and procedures at USSA, working closely with the Head of Shared Services to drive strategic initiatives for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in procurement. Collaborating with the Procurement Senior Analyst, you will ensure alignment and cohesion across procurement functions. Your role involves driving year-over-year improvements in acquiring goods and services for operational and corporate needs, while mitigating third-party risks. The ideal candidate will possess strategic sourcing expertise, supplier relationship management skills, familiarity with alternative asset advisory services and the ability to build strong relationships with senior leadership and global corporate financial institutions.


Responsibilities:


Contract and Procurement Oversight:

  • Lead strategic sourcing efforts, including major supplier contract negotiations and RF(x) events, to ensure favorable terms and conditions while mitigating risks and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, including service agreements, master agreements, and statements of work, to identify potential legal, financial, and operational implications.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, with a focus on safeguarding USSA's interests and maintaining contractual integrity.


Policy and Procedure Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement policies, procedures, and best practices, inline with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and sustainability by leveraging an extensive background in procurement.
  • Provide expert guidance and training to procurement team member on contract management processes, including contract drafting, negotiation strategies, and administration best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on contract-related matters for senior leadership offering insights on emerging trends, regulatory changes, and potential risks or opportunities.


Change Management:

  • Cultivate relationships with key vendors, overseeing their performance and utilizing procurement technology to ensure they consistently meet expectations, while developing benchmarks and scorecards for continuous vendor improvement.
  • Leverage procurement technologies to create a best-in-class vendor management strategy including vendor identification, segmentation, management, review, and corrective action plans for underperforming vendors.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance systems, processes, and practices within the contracts and procurement department, utilizing advanced knowledge of procurement technology and contract lifecycle management tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement workflows, automate manual processes, optimize contract management processes, and increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps and inefficiencies in existing procurement practices and develop actionable plans to address them, driving measurable improvements in procurement performance and outcomes.
  • Develop procurement forecast and cost-saving tracking while identifying opportunities for cost optimization through strategic sourcing, request management, and spend benchmarking.


Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Business Units, Shared Services, IT, and Leadership team, leveraging deep understanding of their business objectives and requirements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on procurement-related matters, providing strategic guidance, regular updates on procurement performance and initiatives, and recommendations to support decision-making to drive business value for short, mid, and long-term organizational objectives.
  • Establish yourself as the primary procurement resource and provide educational leadership to stakeholders, guiding them on various techniques and milestones necessary to develop a best-in-class procurement process.


Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Years of progressive experience in procurement, contract management, or related roles.
  • Understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Track record of managing contracts and vendor relationships with contract law and procurement regulations.
  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems preferred.

The base pay range for this position is $90,000-$125,000.

The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is

paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history, job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills.
