Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and strategic-minded Certifications Product Manager who will be responsible for managing the certifications and regulatory compliance aspects of our industrial instrumentation product portfolio. The Certifications Product Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the necessary regulatory requirements, obtaining relevant certifications, and supporting our market expansion efforts by addressing compliance needs across various regions and industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Certification and Renewal Process: Coordinate the end-to-end certification and evergreen process for industrial automation instrumentation products, including liaising with internal teams, external certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that our instrumentation products meet all applicable industry standards, regulations, and certification requirements, such as FM, CSA, IEC, UL, CE, CRN, NSF61 and others relevant to industrial automation.
  • Research and Interpret Regulations: Stay updated on changes to regulations, standards, and certification requirements related to industrial automation instrumentation. Interpret and apply these requirements to our product development and certification processes.
  • Collaborate with Product Development & Product Management: Work closely with product development/product management teams to integrate certification requirements into the design and development of instrumentation products from conception to launch.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation of certification processes, approvals, and compliance records. Ensure that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provide Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on certification-related matters, providing guidance and support to internal teams on compliance issues, testing requirements, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance Support: Collaborate with the quality assurance/product compliance team to conduct testing and validation activities required for certification, ensuring that products meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the certification process to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
  • Create annual product business plan and budget: Define action items and track results. Set budgets for new, renewal and maintenance of certifications.
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, hard science, or related field. Advanced degree or certificate preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial automation instrumentation, with a focus on certification and compliance.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, UL, CE, etc., pertaining to instrumentation and industrial automation.
  • Experience managing certification processes for industrial automation products, including familiarity with testing procedures and requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time while delivering in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Certification(s) related to industrial automation instrumentation or quality management (e.g., Certified Automation Professional, Six Sigma) is a plus.
