Job Summary: Under the guidance of the Dean, the Program Director will ensure the excellence and continuous improvement of Fortune School of Education’s credentialing programs. The Director will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a social justice orientation, and an asset-based approach to teaching and learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include but are not limited to:
Developing and reviewing program curricula;
Engaging in recruitment initiatives;
Teaching a full load of courses and practicums per year;
Addressing student concerns while promoting a culture of academic excellence;
Coordinating Field Supervision;
Implementing the Faculty Evaluation protocol;
Directing the day-to-day activities of the program, including course schedules and instructor assignments;
Implementing Early Childhood Education Standards and Performance Assessments;
Participating in trainings and meetings organized by the California Commission for Teacher Credentialing (CCTC), Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), and/or any outside agency that is relevant to program development and goals;
Contributing to the Department’s accreditation efforts;
Serving on committees and other Department or Organization-wide initiatives, as assigned by the Dean.
Experience with curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.
Experience with accreditation.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in education from an accredited institution. An Earned Doctorate is preferred.
Track record of successful teaching and advising.
